We’re pleased to share the MOM of the 2nd and final Pre-Pride Planning Meeting for Kolkata Rainbow Pride Walk 2017 which took place on 5th November 2017 Sunday 5: 30 PM at Nandan. We thank those who participated in the meeting, we missed those who could not but of course we hope to see you ALL at the Pride!

Chairperson for the meeting: Sandeepta Das
The following discussions took place at the meeting after everyone was given a recap of the 1st planning meeting:
1. Regarding ‘theme’ of KRPW 2017, there were two suggestions:
a. To include a statement of protest against the persecution of Trans identified people who ‘beg’ at the traffic junctions/crossroads of this city, by the state and
the police (which got reported in a leading Bengali newspaper, Anandabazaar
Patrika.)
b. To include the positive vibes and hope received in the fight against IPC Act Section 377 after the landmark judgement passed by our honourable Supreme Court regarding recognition of Rights to Privacy as a fundamental right.
● As discussed in the previous Planning Meeting, the two additional themes are:
c. Upcoming Transgender Bill which will make the NALSA verdict obsolete.
d. India’s stand against the death penalty at UNHRC.
2. It was suggested that the common literature for KRPW 2017 be:
a. Easy to read
b. Shorter in content
c. Written in a bullet point format
d. Pictorial if possible
3. Regarding sloganeering at KRPW 2017, it was suggested that groups be formed of people who shout slogans more actively during the Pride Walk and these groups be placed strategically throughout the length of the crowd so that the slogans are
distributed evenly and avoid ‘silent’ gaps in the crowd.
4. It was suggested that we voice record the Common literature content in Bengali, Hindi and English and carry it in a pen drive and broadcast it from the speakers on the float.
5. Santanu Giri, who had volunteered to arrange for the Police permission regarding the date and route of KRPW 2017, has provided us with an update that:
a. The date of KRPW 2017 has been finalized on 10th of
December
b. The route has been finalized: Deshapriya Park to Park Circus Maidan via Ballygunje Phanri
c. The gathering time at the starting point, Deshapriya Park, for KRPW 2017 has been scheduled at 2:00PM
6. Pawan Dhall has volunteered:
a. To work on the English version of the common literature. Others are most welcome to volunteer to work with him or to take up the responsibility of translating the English version into Bengali and Hindi.
b. To speak with Shampa Sengupta to understand the arrangements necessary from our side to make KRPW 2017 more inclusive towards People living with disabilities
7. Souvik Som has volunteered to speak to CWF to make arrangements for including people with disabilities in KRPW 2017
8. Volunteers Meeting for KRPW 2017 have been scheduled on Sunday 19th November 2017. Time and venue will be disclosed soon. A Google form for the same will be available for applicants and an open call for volunteers will be announced on social
media soon.
9. Pre-Pride Poster and accessory making workshop has been scheduled on Sunday 3rd December, 2017, from 1:30 PM to 8:00 PM. Venue to be disclosed soon.

প্রথম পরিকল্পনা সভার একটি সংক্ষিপ্তবৃত্তি সকলকে দেওয়ার পর নিম্নলিখিত আলোচনা গুলি সভায় ঘটে:
1. KRPW ২০১৭ এর ‘থিম’ সংক্রান্ত, দুই প্রস্তাবনা:
a. রূপান্তরকামী মানুষেরা যাঁরা ট্রাফিক সংযোগস্থলে বা রাস্তার সংযোগস্থলে ‘ছল্লা’ (আশীর্বাদের বিনিময়ে টাকা চাওয়া) করেন তাদের প্রতি পুলিশ ও রাজ্যের তরফ থেকে নীপিড়নের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদজনক একটি বিবৃতি অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা হোক (যা একটি জনপ্রিয় বাংলা খবরকাগজ আনন্দবাজার পত্রিকায় প্রকাশিত হয়েছে।)
b. ইতিবাচক ও আশাবাদী বাতাবরন যা আমরা আইপিসি এক্ট ৩৭৭এর বিরুদ্ধে লড়াইএ পেয়েছি যখন মাননীয় সুপ্রিম কোর্ট তাঁর ল্যান্ডমার্ক রায় দেন যেখানে গোপনীয়তার অধিকার বা ‘Right to Privacy’ কে এক মৌলিক অধিকার হিসেবে গণ্য করা হয়।
● পূর্ববর্তী পরিকল্পনাসভার দুইটি অতিরিক্ত থিম এইখানে যোগ করা হলো:
c. আসন্ন ট্রান্সজেন্ডার বিল যা নালসা রায়কে অচল করে দিতে পারে।
d. সমকামী যুগল-দের মৃত্যুদণ্ড নিয়ে UNHRC-তে ভারতের অবস্থান।
2. সুপারিশ করা হয় যে KRPW 2017 এর জন্য কমোন লিটারেচার যাতে:
a.পড়তে সুবিধে হয়
b. বিষয়বস্তু অপেক্ষাকৃত ছোট
c. বুলেট পয়েন্ট বিন্যাসে লিখিত
d. সম্ভব হলে চিত্র সহ
3. KRPW 2017 এর স্লোগানের ব্যাপারে ধার্য করা হয় যে কিছু দল তৈরী করা হবে যাঁরা আরো সক্রিয় ভাবে স্লোগান দেবেন প্রাইড যাত্রায় এবং এঁদের কৌশলগতভাবে পুরো যাত্রার ব্যাপ্তিতে ছড়িয়ে দিতে হবে যাতে স্লোগানগুলি সমান ভাবে সবার কাছে পৌঁছে যায় এবং কোনো চুপচাপ ‘ফাঁক’ না থেকে যায় যাত্রায়।
4. সুপারিশ করা হয় যে সাধারণ কমোন লিটারেচারটি বাংলা, ইংরেজি ও হিন্দি তে রেকর্ড করে পেনড্রাইভের দ্বারা ফ্লোটে বসানো মাইকগুলোর মাধ্যমে সম্প্রচার করা হোক।
5. শান্তনু গিরি যিনি KRPW ২০১৭র গমনপথ ও সময়ের জন্য পুলিশের অনুমতি নেয়ার দায়িত্ব নিয়েছিলেন, তিনি আমাদের নিম্নলিখিত তথ্য গুলি দিয়েছেন:
a. KRPW ২০১৭র দিন ১০ই ডিসেম্বর ধার্য করা হয়েছে
b. ধার্য গমনপথ: দেশপ্রিয় পার্ক থেকে পার্ক সার্কাস ময়দান, বালিগঞ্জ ফাঁড়ি দিয়ে
c. KRPW ২০১৭র শুরুর স্থান দেশপ্রিয় পার্কে জমায়েতের সময় দুপুর ২টো ধার্য করা হয়েছে
6. পবন ঢাল দায়িত্ব নিয়েছেন:
a. কমোন লিটারেচারের ইংরেজি সংস্করণ তৈরী করার, অন্যরাও এই কাজে যোগ দিতে সুস্বাগত বা এই ইংরেজি সংস্করণকে বাংলা ও হিন্দিতে অনুবাদও করতে পারেন।
b. শম্পা সেনগুপ্তের সাথে কথা বলবেন, যাতে কি কি ব্যবস্থাপনায় আমরা KRPW ২০১৭ তে প্রতিবন্ধী মানুষদের আরো ভালো ভাবে অন্তর্ভুক্ত করতে পারি, সেই ব্যাপারে অনুধাবন করতে।
7. সৌভিক সোম দায়িত্ব নিয়েছেন সিডব্লিউএফ এর সাথে কথা বলতে, প্রতিবন্ধী মানুষদের KRPW ২০১৭ তে অন্তর্ভুক্তির ব্যাবস্থাপনার ব্যাপারে।
8. KRPW ২০১৭র স্বেচ্ছাকর্মীদের সভা ১৯এ নভেম্বর, ২০১৭ রবিবার দিন ধার্য করা হয়েছে। সময় ও জায়গা শীঘ্রই প্রকাশ করা হবে। একটি গুগল ফর্ম প্রকাশ করা হবে আবেদনকারীদের জন্য, এবং স্বেচ্ছাকর্মীদের জন্য একটি আহ্বান বার্তা শীঘ্রই সোশ্যাল মিডিয়াতে প্রকাশিত হবে।
9. প্রাইড পূর্ববর্তী পোস্টার এবং অন্যান্য অ্যাক্সেসরিজ তৈরির ওয়ার্কশপ রবিবার, ৩রা ডিসেম্বর, ২০১৭ বেলা ১:৩০ থেকে রাত ৮ টা অবধি, জায়গা শীঘ্রই প্রকাশ করা হবে।
